Senior VP and Managing Principal

Lui Mancinelli is the Senior VP and Managing Principal of HOK in Canada, a multi-disciplinary design services firm. Under Lui’s leadership the firm has expanded exponentially over the last 10 years, to include studios in Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Doha and Dubai, and grown from 12 to more than 300 employees. During this time Lui has strategically diversified HOK’s markets, which now include corporate campus, education, health care, financial services, hospitality, mixed-use, residential, retail, science & technology, workplace, urban planning, along with a new sustainable design consulting practice. As a sustainability advocate, Lui inspires employees and clients to adopt sustainable strategies in their projects and day-to-day operations. The firm is holistically committed to environmental stewardship, enriching communities, and reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions from all of its projects and studio operations.

Lui’s dynamic management style drives the firm’s multi-disciplinary teams of architects, planners, interior designers, graphic designers and business strategists, to excellence. HOK’s clients benefit from Lui’s hands-on approach. As principal-in-charge of select sustainable projects, he is an effective facilitator among stakeholder groups, specialty consultants and landlords – a proven client advantage.

Lui sits on the Board of Directors of HOK, a design firm with 2,500 employees in 26 offices around the world. He is Vice-Chair of HOK’s Management Board and participates in a variety of HOK’s global task forces, including the Sustainable Innovation Group, Blue Ocean Group and the Corporate Workplace Group. Lui received his Bachelor of Architectural Technology from Ryerson University and is a LEED® 2.0 Accredited Professional.
