Dan Zembal is the president and owner of Alberta Waste & Recycling. The company develops and provides innovative, practical and environmentally sustainable waste management solutions to provincial and municipal governments, developers/owners, contractors, builders and waste haulers. Dan is setting up Resource Recovery Depots throughout Alberta to accept and recycle construction and demolition waste materials.

Dan is very active and passionate about C&D waste minimization / diversion. He is an active participant on the province’s C&D Waste Reduction Advisory Committee; President of the Recycling Council of Alberta; and, founding member of the Calgary Materials Exchange. Dan was recognized for his drive, dedication and determination by Alberta Construction Magazine as one of the industry’s “Mover and Shakers of 2007”. He wants to continue to “move” the construction industry towards environmental sustainability and to continue to “shake up” the recycling industry.
